🔥 UPDATE: MULTIPLE Anker Power Banks Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

The Telford Fire Company is issuing a critical warning today regarding the voluntary recall of several Anker power bank models due to serious fire and burn risks. These devices contain lithium-ion batteries that may overheat, smoke, or even ignite, posing a real danger to consumers.

Anker has initiated a recall for the following models:


What You Should Do Immediately

Our firefighters strongly urge anyone with these models to follow these steps:

  1. Stop using the device immediately and unplug it.

  2. Check the bottom of your power bank for model and serial numbers.

  3. Visit Anker’s official recall page (via their website) to verify eligibility and follow instructions.

  4. Submit a photo of the device showing:

    • Model and serial numbers

    • The word “recalled” written clearly on the unit

  5. Choose your remedy:

  6. Dispose of recalled lithium-ion units properlynever throw them in regular garbage or recycling bins. Use a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) facility or certified e-waste recycling center.

Lithium-ion batteries can experience thermal runaway, a rapid overheating leading to fire or explosion. With over a million units affected and confirmed incidents already reported, this is a matter of real urgency, not caution.
