Do you know how it always seems like a fire company is always prepared when they roll up to an emergency? They prepare ahead of time. Our station, and many in the area, have a dedicated night for this. It’s called Drill Night! Drill night consists of running simulated emergencies, training/refresher classes, equipment/truck checks, and even monthly meetings. Each week is a different drill. Yes, some nights are definitely more fun than others, but it’s something that still has to be done. On truck check drill nights our firefighters prepare. They prepare our trucks  and the equipment on each truck making sure hoses are properly rolled, equipment is in full working order, starting and running saws & generators, and making sure each truck has equipment in its designated spot. Even finishing up by giving the trucks a good wash at the end. It might not seem like a fun night, but it’s something that is very important when the siren goes off. Most importantly Drill Night is a time to get together with your firehouse family to check in with each other and hang out. Hey, you never know, you might get a call and you are already there and ready to go!

If you think you are interested in becoming a member, we are always looking for people to join. Stop by on a Tuesday evening if you have any questions.
