Telford Fire Company Community Emergency Warning System
Last year with the cooperation and assistance from Telford Borough, The Telford Fire Company installed an outdoor community emergency warning system.
The system is custom designed to provide automated emergency warning to residents and the public in the Telford community area.
The system can be automatically activated by:
- The National Weather Service (NOAA)
- At the request of the local Police Department, or Emergency Management (Through Montgomery or Bucks County 911 centers)
- For Emergency Dispatches of the Telford Fire Company (Through Montgomery or Bucks County 911 centers)
- Regular monthly scheduled system test (Internal programing)
The system is designed to provide audible public warning signals (tone) and voice messages within a range of approximately one mile (5,200 ft.) from the center of Telford Borough in all directions.
Current Siren Tone and Associated Voice Messages:
- ‘Alert’ tone (Tornado Warning)
– Triggered automatically by the National Weather Service Alert System (NOAA)
Voice Message – Warning! A tornado warning has been issued for the Telford Area. Please take shelter immediately.
- ‘Wail’ tone (Telford Fire)
– Triggered by Montgomery & Bucks County 911
No Voice Message – Tone Only
- ‘Whoop’ tone (Other Public Emergency – Shelter in place)
Voice Message – Warning! An Emergency condition has been issued for the Telford Area. Please take shelter immediately and remain indoors.
Voice Message – All Clear. The Emergency is over. All Clear. The emergency is over. All Clear. The emergency is over.
- ‘Westminster Chimes’ (For monthly system test) – Church bell sounds
Voice Message – Attention, the following is a regular monthly test of the Telford Area outdoor warning system. This is not an emergency, this is only a test.
