Bringing Fire Safety and Community Engagement to You

The Telford Volunteer Fire Company is proud to serve not only through emergency response but also through education and community outreach. Whether you’re planning a school event, hosting a community day, organizing a scout troop visit, or looking for a fire safety presentation, the department is ready to help make your event both fun and informative.

The fire company regularly visits schools, daycares, senior centers, and civic groups to deliver age-appropriate fire prevention messages, demonstrate fire gear, and showcase the equipment used in real emergencies. These visits are an exciting way for children and adults alike to learn about fire safety, ask questions, and meet the firefighters who serve their community. In many cases, participants get a hands-on experience—sitting in the truck, trying on gear, or watching a live demonstration.

To request a visit or have the fire company participate in your upcoming event, simply reach out through the Event Contact form. Scheduling in advance is encouraged, especially during Fire Prevention Week in October or during the busy spring and fall event seasons. The fire company does its best to accommodate all requests while still maintaining readiness for emergency calls.

Engaging with the fire department in this way builds strong community connections and reinforces life-saving messages in a memorable way. From teaching kids how to “Stop, Drop, and Roll” to showing families how to create a home evacuation plan, these visits are a valuable extension of the Telford Fire Company’s mission to protect and serve.
