Community Spotlight: A Young Scout Making a Big Impact on Fire Safety

At the Telford Fire Company, one of our greatest goals is to educate, engage, and inspire our community—especially our youngest members. Recently, we were honored to receive a thoughtful message from a local family that perfectly reflects why this mission matters.

Marissa reached out to let us know that her son, Alex, a Boy Scout working toward his Fire Safety badge, has been using the Telford Fire Company website as a learning resource. As part of his badge requirements, Alex has been studying fire safety topics such as common fire hazards, fire extinguisher use, and the importance of home fire inspections—knowledge he’s already putting into action by planning a safety walkthrough of his own home.

We were especially excited to hear how much Alex enjoyed our Kids’ Corner page and how it helped spark his interest in fire prevention and safety. Taking his research a step further, Alex even found and submitted an additional fire prevention guide for consideration—showing initiative, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to learning.

We’re proud to share that Alex’s submission has been added to our Kids’ Corner, and we want to recognize his effort and enthusiasm. This is exactly the kind of community involvement we love to see. It shows that when young people are encouraged to learn and connect, great things happen.
