Whereas The House of Representatives of Pennsylvania is always pleased to celebrate those individuals who selflessly devote themselves to ensuring the safety of their fellow citizens; and

Whereas The Honorable Jerry Guretse, Mayor of the Borough of Telford, is being honored upon fifty years of valuable service and dedication to the Telford Fire Company; and

Whereas An avowed steward of his community, Mayor Guretse began his tenure in the fire service as a member of the Fairmount Fire Company of Lansdale, and he joined the Telford Fire Company in February 1975. Currently serving as President of the Telford Fire Company, he has been the pillar for the fire decades and has helped the company’s budget system. Additionally, Mayor Guretse has served as Chief Engineer. Throughout his distinguished career, Mayor Guretse has demonstrated exemplary leadership and commitment to the fire service and the community. Throughout his career, Mayor Guretse has emphasized the need for firefighters to maintain strong relationships during which they instill honor and valor in the minds of the citizens they serve. His unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property of the citizens and his role as a sterling example of the highest ideals and traditions of duty, sacrifice and citizenship are truly worthy of emulation; and

Now therefore The House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania congratulates the Honorable Jerry Guretse for his fifty years of service to the Telford Fire Company and proudly notes his record of achievement and extends best wishes for continued success in the future; and

And directs that a copy of this citation, sponsored by Representatives Steven R. Malagari and Craig T. Staats on October 22, 2023, be transmitted to the Honorable Jerry Guretse.
