Ladder 75 – 2007 Pierce HAL 100’ Aerial Ladder

Ladder 75 is a 2007 Pierce HAL (Heavy Aerial Ladder) featuring a 100-foot aluminum aerial device. It was purchased by the Telford Fire Company in 2009 directly from Pierce Manufacturing. Originally built as a factory demonstration unit, the truck was acquired at a significant cost savings compared to a custom-built apparatus.

This truck has a unique history—it appeared multiple times in Season 4 of the FX television series Rescue Me, starring Dennis Leary. Several cast members, including Leary, Adam Ferrara, and Lenny Clarke, even signed the officer’s jump seat. (See gallery below for photos.)

Built on a rugged Pierce Dash chassis, Ladder 75 is powered by a 515-horsepower Detroit Diesel Series 60 engine paired with an Allison automatic transmission, providing the strength and reliability essential for emergency response. The cab seats six firefighters and includes side roll protection, TAK-4 independent front suspension for improved handling, Command Zone electronic diagnostics, automatic snow chains, air conditioning, and a rear-view camera to enhance maneuvering and safety.

The aerial ladder features:

  • A 750-pound tip load capacity

  • Integrated tip controls

  • A remote-controlled, pre-piped waterway capable of flowing over 1,000 gallons per minute—ideal for elevated fire suppression operations

For scene support, Ladder 75 is equipped with:

  • A 10kW Harrison hydraulic generator

  • Power cord reel

  • Three 1,000-watt scene lights for reliable illumination

It also carries a comprehensive set of tools and specialized equipment, including:

  • 200 feet of portable ground ladders

  • Five power saws

  • Thermal imaging camera

  • Four-gas atmospheric monitor

  • Rescue ropes and technical rescue gear

  • Four ventilation fans

  • Salvage tools and a wide assortment of hand tools

With its powerful firefighting, rescue, and ventilation capabilities, Ladder 75 is a critical component of Telford Fire Company’s emergency response fleet—ready to handle incidents ranging from structure fires to complex technical rescues.
