About Telford Fire Company

A 100% volunteer, non-profit organization

Welcome!  The Telford Volunteer Fire Company, proudly serving the borough of Telford and surrounding communities since its founding in 1903, is a cornerstone of local emergency response and community involvement. Staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers, the department is committed to protecting lives and property through fire suppression, rescue operations, emergency medical response, and public education. With over a century of service, the Telford Fire Company is deeply rooted in tradition while continually evolving to meet the growing needs of the community.

The company operates out of its centrally located firehouse on West Broad Street, housing a modern fleet that includes fire engines, a rescue squad, a ladder truck, an air truck, and multiple support vehicles. These apparatuses are equipped with up-to-date technology and tools, allowing firefighters to respond swiftly and effectively to a wide range of emergencies—from structure fires to vehicle accidents, gas leaks, and storm-related incidents. The department’s volunteers are highly trained, participating in continuous education and drills to stay current with best practices in fire and rescue services.

Beyond emergency response, the Telford Volunteer Fire Company places strong emphasis on community outreach and education. The department hosts annual events such as fire prevention programs in local schools, open houses, and public demonstrations to teach residents of all ages about fire safety, emergency preparedness, and the importance of smoke alarms. These efforts are designed not only to prevent tragedies but also to foster trust and connection between the fire company and the residents they serve.

The department is also known for its active role in local events and fundraisers, including its Mother’s Day Flower Sale, Dried Beef Gravy Sale, Bingo Nights, and annual Boot Drives. These events not only raise crucial funds for equipment and training but also provide an opportunity for residents to engage with the department in a fun and meaningful way. As a 100% volunteer organization, the fire company relies heavily on community support, donations, and sponsorships to continue its operations and maintain its high level of readiness.

At its heart, the Telford Volunteer Fire Company is more than just an emergency response team—it’s a family of neighbors committed to protecting and serving their community. Their dedication, professionalism, and willingness to respond at a moment’s notice are what make them a vital and valued part of the Telford area. Whether racing to a fire scene or handing out candy at a community parade, the men and women of the Telford Fire Company exemplify the spirit of service in action.
