From your Chaplain:
In past years In May, we the Telford Fire Company have attended a church service on Memorial Day. This has been a tradition for as long as I can remember. As we all know Memorial Day is a day to remember our service men and woman that gave that ultimate sacrifice for our country.
At our last fire company meeting I asked if we might like to change from doing the Memorial Day service this year and attend a service that honors fallen fire fighters instead. Each year, the Foundation sponsors the official national tribute to all fire fighters who died in the line of duty during the previous year. Thousands attend the National Fallen Fire Fighters Memorial Weekend in Emmetsburg, Maryland. This year that weekend is May 3rd & 4th. The consensus was to go ahead and attend the Fallen Fire Fighters service instead of the Memorial Day service so that is what we are going to do. Please mark this date down on your calendars May 4th, 2025.
Details:
Date: May 4th, 2025
We will be attending the service at:
Christ Reformed Church
171 Church Rd.
Telford, PA 18969
Be at our station at 9:30 AM (service is at 10:15)
Dress is class “A” (no hats) If you don’t have class “A”, appropriate dress.
I will pass a signup sheet around at our company meeting and then I’ll post it in the engine room. Please put your name down if you will be able to attend so I can tell Paster Scott Nice how many will be attending the service.
I hope to see a big turnout for this service, Last year I was pleased with the turn out for the Memorial Day service. This service is all about the fire service and all those that gave their all, so please try to attend. This is open to all who wish to come, bring your family. I will be ordering flowers and I will be giving a short talk about fallen fire fighters and how we serve.
Blessings, Barry
